For If These Things Be In You, Ye Shall Neither Be Barren Nor Unfruitful

Text: 2Pet. 1:5-8

From the beginning of this week, we have been discussing fruitfulness. fruitfulness. Our Master emphasize on the subject so much during His days on earth, so we must take it seriously.

The parable Jesus gave in Luke 13:6-9 made us know that a seed planted on a good soil and well taken care of may still fail to bear fruits. Then it means we should look elsewhere for its problems: maybe something is wrong with the seed itself.

From where our text is taking today, apostle Peter exhorts and points us to critical issues that we need to critically look into if we must grow and be fruitful.

2 Peter 1: 5-10, “And besides this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. Wherefore the rather, brethren, give the diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall”.

You need to take these qualities serious and diligently and prayerfully work on yourself to possess them if you would not be barren.
Many Christians are so lazy that they would not do what is necessary for them to go to another level in faith. No wonder they remain stagnant, living like an imbecile. If God would take you to a higher ground you must be ready to climb a mountain or a ladder.

Jesus let me not be a barren Christian, give me the grace to be an example unto other Christians in fruitfulness
